Walk for Make A Wish at This Year's Inland Empire Auto Show

The Inland Empire Auto Show (IEAS) announced that it has partnered with Make-A-Wish® Orange County Inland Empire Chapter for the first ever Inland Empire Walk for Wishes. The event comprises a non-competitive, spirited walk with the goal of raising funds to directly help fulfill the wishes of children in the Inland Empire or Orange County who are currently faced with life-threatening medical issues. The Walk for Wishes kicks off Sunday, August 26 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The walk gets underway at 9:00a.m., starting at the Ontario Convention Center, winding around the nearby streets and finishing back at the convention center parking lot where the World of Wishes festival and an array of activities for the whole family will await. Early registration to take part in Walk for Wishes runs now through Friday, August 17 and is $25 per person. Regular registration runs from Saturday, August 18 through Friday, August 24 and is $35. Registration on the day of the event is $40 per person. Registration at every level includes an event T-shirt, entry into the Inland Empire Auto Show, food and an event day pass to get access to all of the World of Wishes festival activities. To register or for more information, visit www.wishocie.org and click on the “Register” tab, or call (951) 321-0179.

“Teaming up with the Inland Empire Auto Show is such a fantastic thing for us and for the children we get to help,” said Stephanie McCormick, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Orange County Inland Empire. “More than 30,000 people come to the show each day over the course of three days and without the help and support of our local residents, most of whom are visiting the auto show, we couldn’t do what we do for these deserving kids.

The Walk for Wishes event is designed for all family members to get involved, plus their friends and their families. The walk allows participants to stroll along the wide, palm-tree lined streets of Ontario and culminates with the World of Wishes festival at the Ontario Convention Center where participants will be treated to music, food, free samples and fun for the whole family. Following that, participants can head inside to check out the latest and hottest car models from auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge, Hyundai, GM, Mazda, Subaru and many more, free with their registration into the Walk for Wishes. Sunday is Family Day at the auto show so there will be more fun and festivities inside the convention center, including a Kids Zone with jumper houses, face painting and more in conjunction with Make-A-Wish. In addition to admission into the Inland Empire Auto Show, walkers can also sign up for the free Ride & Drive event happening outside the convention center, or check out the on-the-go gourmet offerings from the array of famous food trucks at the Food Truck Festival on hand at the auto show.
