FOOD TRUCK FUN ROLLS INTO THE INLAND EMPIRE AUTO SHOW WITH AMAZING FOODIE DELIGHTS

Bring an appetite to the Inland Empire Auto Show because this year, some of the best food trucks from Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire will be serving up award-winning, on-the-go fare. Famed food trucks at the Food Truck Zone include My Delight Cupcakery, A RockIn Ice, Slammin’ Sliders, Red Robin Yummm Mobile, Bacon Mania, Thai 1 On, Dogtown Dogs and number the one rated The Grilled Cheese Truck. Show goers who test drive a car in the auto show’s Ride & Drive event will also receive a free food truck voucher while supplies last. The Inland Empire Auto Show takes place Friday through Sunday, August 24-26, 2012 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, Calif. For tickets for the show and to get one’s fill at these acclaimed food trucks, log onto www.IEAutoShow.com. Tickets are also available at the door.

My Delight Cupcakery offers a traveling array of confectionary treats, sure to satisfy the most discriminating sweet tooth. Pastry Chef, Naomi Moreno, whips her delectable mini-cakes flavors such as “birthday” – a take on the classic birthday cake with sprinkles – and the “late night breakfast” – a waffle-inspired cupcake with fried chicken on top of buttermilk frosting. “By far, the single best thing I [tried] was the Breakfast Cake from My Delight Cupcakery in Ontario. It was like a buttermilk pancake, whipped maple syrup and bacon in a cupcake. I can’t believe that I didn’t buy a dozen,” said a Los Angeles Times writer. Cupcakes range from $2.00 to $4.00.

For those looking to cool off at the auto show, stop by one of the southland’s most sought-after food trucks, A RockIn Ice. Recently on the Food Network’s online Great Food Truck Race, A RockIn Ice serves up refreshing Hawaiian shave ice in a rainbow of both tropical and decadent flavors.

For the carnivorous show goers, Slammin’ Sliders serves up a mouthful of meat goodness hot and ready between two buns. “Slammin’ Sliders is the expert, serving gourmet sliders: delicious, inventive, crave-worthy sliders that will have you coming back again, and again, and again,” according to Foodtrucktalk.com.

One of the most anticipated food trucks at the Inland Empire Auto Show is The Grilled Cheese Truck. With an inventive spin on the childhood favorite grilled cheese sandwich, The Grilled Cheese Truck has been named the number one food truck of 2011 by the LA Hotlist, and their Cheesy Mac & Rib sandwich was called one of the Most Outrageous Grilled Cheese Sandwiches in the Country by Dailymeal.com.

The Red Robin Yummm Mobile serves up the favorites of their all-American brick and mortar restaurant in a convenient, on the go style. Everything from gourmet hamburgers to BBQ chicken sandwiches and fresh-tossed salads grace the Yummm Mobile’s menu.

According to the Dogtown Dogs website, each hot dog on the menu presents a sophisticated variation of traditional favorites with an innovative spin. These dogs’ soulful flavors elicit a sense of nostalgia and with more than 7,000 Twitter followers, the Dogtown Dogs food truck is on its way to becoming a So Cal favorite.

Thai 1 On comes all the way from sunny San Diego with a claim to fame as the city’s first food truck. Thai food lovers will be in luck at the IE Auto Show because this food truck serves up delicious eats inspired by Thailand's street food culture.

Bacon fans rejoice because the BACON MANia truck will be at the Inland Empire Auto Show all three days serving unabashedly American, unapologetic man-food from a fun, friendly and a little bit funky nomadic food truck.

Show goers can check out the hottest cars and trucks from top auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Subaru, General Motors, Chrysler, Fiat, Volkswagen and many more at the Inland Empire Auto Show. When attendees feel the hunger pangs set in, the Food Truck Zone awaits with an entire array of tastes.

Temecula Make-A-Wish Child Walks for Other Children at IE Auto Show's Walk for Wishes

What an inspiring story! Isaac Martinez, a Temecula native, has never stopped giving back. It’s been three years since Isaac’s wish was granted by Make-A-Wish® and the entire Martinez family is still working to help grant the wishes of other children. On August 26, Isaac and his family will participate in the Inland Empire’s Inaugural Walk For Wishes® presented by Ontario Auto Center.

Isaac loves everything about pirates. Isaac draws maps of buried treasure in his room and always puts on his boldest pirate face when he is searching for hidden riches. When Make-A-Wish® offered the young leukemia patient anything his heart desired, he knew there was only one thing he wanted: to be a pirate captain for a day. In 2009, he and his family sailed away to USC’s Wrigley Marine Institute on Catalina Island for an adventurous treasure hunt.
On the island, Isaac was greeted by his pirate crew and after some pirate festivities, the odyssey began. During the expedition Isaac hunted buried treasure with a treasure map and kayaked through the ocean waters to find clues. Isaac was filled with wonder and awe as the journey concluded and the hidden loot was finally discovered. This was certainly a day that Captain Isaac will never forget.

After his wish, Isaac spent the holidays as a Make-A-Wish® ambassador at the Temecula Macy’s Believe Station. Macy’s Believe campaign encourages children to write to Santa. Macy’s donates $1, up to $1 million, to Make-A-Wish® for every letter dropped in a Believe Station’s mailbox.

The Martinez family’s work didn’t stop there. Isaac’s uncle, Alex, wrote a book about Isaac’s battle against leukemia. Alex is donating a part of the proceeds to Make-A-Wish®. Most recently, Isaac was featured in an Allergan/Latisse Campaign for Make-A-Wish®.

On August 26, Isaac will continue his journey to help grant the wishes of other children by walking in the Inland Empire’s Inaugural Walk For Wishes® presented by Ontario Auto Center with his family. The festivities include a spirited walk at the Ontario Convention Center and a World of Wishes festival area.

Online registration for the walk is only $25 now until Friday, August 17, and $35 from August 18 to Friday, August 24. On site registration is available for $40 on the day of the event. Registration gains you an event T-shirt, food, a pass to the World of Wishes festival area, and entry into the Inland Empire Auto Show on the day of the walk. Meet Isaac and other wish families at the World of Wishes festival!

At the Inland Empire Auto Show families can explore the Kids Zone, which features face painting, games, and inflatables. The Sunday Auto Show schedule features the famous car show, the popular Food Truck Festival, and free test drives through the Ride and Drive Program. Visit www.IEAutoShow.com for more info on everything at the show.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Founded in 1980 when a group of caring volunteers helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, with 62 chapters in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish every 40 minutes and has granted more than 200,000 wishes in the United States since its inception.
